EDUCATION
Emilė Ribokaitė began her musical journey at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art, where she studied choir conducting. She completed her studies in classical singing and music pedagogy at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in the class of Professor Regina Maciūtė. She later obtained both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Historically Informed Performance – Singing – at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Early Music Academy) in Switzerland, studying with Professors Ulrike Hofbauer and Rosa Dominguez. During her studies, she participated in numerous masterclasses with internationally renowned artists, including Margreet Honig, Jan van Elsacker, Ulrich Messthaler, Dorothee Oberlinger, and others.
She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Music and Stage in Transformation at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis under the guidance of opera director Prof. Deda Cristina Colonna. As part of the programme, she is developing her own staged production and increasingly focusing her artistic work on opera directing. Her upcoming production is “Rappresentatione di Anima e di Corpo” by Emilio de’ Cavalieri.
PERFORMING
Emilė has performed several operatic roles and regularly appears in musical and interdisciplinary projects, as well as in concerts across various European countries. In 2023, she won the “Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci” competition with Orpheus Ensemble Basel and performed at the festival in 2024. In the same year, she presented a folk/baroque solo programme at the “Carinthischer Sommer” and “Trigonale” festivals in Austria. At the beginning of 2026, she went on a well-received concert tour in Canada with the medieval ensemble PAMPINEA.
ORGANIZING
Alongside her work in the field of Early Music, she occasionally collaborates with contemporary composers and organises educational and performative concert tours. Her artistic path has continuously been accompanied by pedagogical and organisational activities for over a decade—not only in music but also in other creative fields. This work culminated in 2024 in the founding of the international Šumskas Manor Early Music Festival in Lithuania, which she established together with her family and which will take place for the third time this year.
